‘Maggie’ Narrator Earns Earphones Award

AudiofileEarphoneLogoSuperstar audiobook narrator Tavia Gilbert has won yet another prestigious AudioFile Magazine Earphones Award — her fifth!

Tavia earned her latest Earphones Award for her “flawless” performance in collaboration with Paul Michael Garcia of The Word Exchange, by Alena Graedon. Earphones are awarded for “exceptional presentations that excel in narrative voice and style, vocal characterizations, appropriateness for the audio format, and enhancement of the text.”

In addition to the Earphones Award, Tavia is a six-time Audie Award Finalist and multiple Parent’s Choice Award winner. Library Journal said this highly-acclaimed actress is, “as close as you can get to a full cast narration with a solo voice.

Next up for Tavia, who has narrated more than 250 multi-cast and single-voice audiobooks,  is her performance and production of  Maggie Vaults Over the Moon by Grant Overstake, to be released March 31st by BlackstoneAudio.

“I’m very proud indeed to be connected to a project that celebrates the best qualities of the wonderful character, Maggie, the healthy and realistic way she copes with grief and challenge, and her development as an athlete and a mature, grounded young woman,” Tavia said. “This is a very special story, and I look forward to bringing it to listening audiences.”

Maggie Vaults Over the Moon is the premier work of fiction by Overstake, a former Miami Herald Sports Writer and Kansas newspaper editor. His novel has been endorsed by Olympic athletes, coaches, and teachers for its uplifting message.  It also earned praise from USA Today columnist Christine Brennan, the nation’s top female sports writer.
