SYDNEY, Australia — Master painter Phillip Carrero has completed his own version of Maggie’s cover and will provide posters of the artwork, valued at $75 each, to vault fans who contribute $50 to Maggie’s Audiobook Campaign!
The campaign goes live on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform at 8 am central time this Saturday, March 1st.
A huge fan of Maggie Vaults Over the Moon, Carrero is eager to help narrator Tavia Gilbert perform and produce the novel on audiobook. The campaign will cover Tavia’s expenses, and lift the sport of pole-vaulting to a new audience.
In addition to the cover poster, contributors at the $50 level will receive a download of the audiobook.
For more than forty years, Artist Phillip Carrero has meticulously captured the likenesses of public figures, military heroes, and outstanding athletes, whose images are on display at the Olympics Athletic Centre in Sydney. Over and above all, the artist from Down Under is on top of the world when painting the graceful athletes who soar in one of the world’s most beautiful and artistic sports.
“To have Phillip Carrero be so inspired by Maggie that he was motivated to paint a new version of the cover is the highest tribute,” said author Grant Overstake. “What we’ve been using as the cover was basically graphic designer clip art. This takes it to a whole new level. I can’t thank him enough for his contribution to this effort.”
Additional sponsors for the 30-day event include: Dial Athletics, Fuzion Athletics, Gill Athletics, Raise the Bar Pole Vault Club, Rusty Shealy Pole Vault Club, Texas Pole Vault Club at Elitz Sports, Tailwind Pole Vault Club, and Vaulter Magazine!
